What Should Employees Know About End-of-Service Benefits When Leaving a Job in Bahrain?
Posted by sajdasaleema November 4, 2026 7:13 PM Jobs & Career Advice
When employees in Bahrain decide to leave their current jobs or move to another company, understanding their end-of-service benefits is important.

Many employees are unsure how their gratuity is calculated, especially when salary, years of service, and employment dates are involved. The rules can also differ depending on whether an employee is covered by the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO) system.

For non-Bahraini private-sector employees, the current system includes employer contributions of 4.2% of the applicable wage for the first three years and 8.4% for subsequent service.

Employees who want to understand their potential entitlement can use this [Bahrain Gratuity Calculator](https://gccgratuitycalculator.com/bahrain-gratuity-calculator/) to get an initial estimate based on their salary and service period.

I would like to ask other employees in Bahrain: Do you check your end-of-service benefits before resigning or accepting a new job? What documents do you recommend keeping to make sure the final settlement is correct?
